Coming up tomorrow, we get the 37th running of the Breeder’s Cup Classic with a purse of $6 Million Dollars. One of the key story lines will be the battle between the two 3-year-olds Tiz the Law and Authentic. The higher finisher will likely have the edge to win the 2020 Eclipse Award for American Champion Three-Year-Old Male Horse.

Post time is 5:18 PM EST. The race will be televised on NBC with coverage beginning at 4:30 PM EST.

Below are the official entries, post-positions, jockey assignments and morning line odds. The two 3-year-old colts (Tiz the Law & Authentic) will carry 122 lbs of weight, all others will carry 126 lbs.

Race Analysis: Overall, I plan to be more of a spectator than a bettor on this race. This has been a tough year to handicap the big races for everyone. Lot of surprises and we could see one once again like we did with Swiss Skydiver winning the Preakness Stakes.

That being said, you’ve got to like the winner coming out of Bob Baffert’s barn. He is the winningest trainer in Breeders’ Cup Classic history with three wins: Bayern (2014), American Pharoah (2015) and Arrogate (2016). However, as you’ll notice, Baffert has come up winless in the last three Classics.

Right now, my gut feeling is that the race will likely come down to Tiz the Law and Improbable. I’d give Improbable the edge but personally I will be rooting for Tiz the Law.

Tiz the Law is well-rested and has a nice inside position to save a little ground with he if gets out of the gate well. If you remember, in the Kentucky Derby he finished second but had to go wide to get into position entering the stretch. With a nice start from the #2 post, Tiz the Law is set up well for a rail-run. Tacitus‘ trainer, Bill Mott, has won the Classic twice: Cigar (1995) and Drosselmeyer (2011). So I would consider him in your exotics. Overall,o I will probably split my win bets between Tiz the Law and Improbable.
